Operated by Olympic kayak gold-medallist Ian Ferguson, Fergs Kayaks offers more than just kayaking. A 40-foot vertical wall with 38 ropes provides a challenging climb and a lot of fun. In line skates can also be rented or purchased. Those interested in kayaking can rent all the necessary equipment and go off on their own, or take a guided Mystery Trip exploring the region's bays.

Paddle down the Ruamahanga River for a peaceful adventure in lush native bush surroundings. All equipment is provided, along with instruction. Between boating, enjoy swimming, bankside lunch stops and evening barbeques. Transportation picks guests up at the end of the route to bring back to base. Tours depart daily at 10am or 2pm. Bookings are essential.
