The observatory is where science and mystique meet. Explore the night sky with a telescope that extends viewers’ field of vision to place them among the celestial bodies. Look through a modern crisp telescope, or see the night sky like the Victorian's did with a 135 year old Cooke Telescope. Or during the day visitors can try solar viewing. There is also a planetarium with a changing feature, which includes the night sky explained. Open daily.

Mt Victoria Lookout
At 196 meters (643 ft), Mt Victoria has expansive views of a dazzling sea dotted with sails and a bustling harbour and city. To get here, take the walking trail or take Bus 20 from the train station. There are several roads for cars leading to the top as well.
